Just a Note and an Invite

Sometimes things are just too rushed and chaotic, busy, frantic, whatever words you put to it, and you don’t have time to write at length.  Maybe that’s not such a bad thing.  It gives you a breather, a pause, a chance to stop and inhale and come back fresher the next time.

This is one of those weeks.  Board meetings, out of town guests, a full agenda, studying to teach on Thursday morning, a 70th birthday party for my husband this past weekend: life has been rather overwhelming of late.  So rather than rush to put something down here, or to fill the space, or to “ramble” in a bad way,  I decided to just do a bit of advertising.

On November 16 we’re having an art show fundraiser in Westlake Village, so if you’re reading this and you live nearby, please come join us.  We have over 20 artists, some local, some not, who will be displaying their various art forms and selling them to donate 75% of the proceeds to Christian Associates to help our missionaries develop churches and communities around Europe and North and South America.  It’s a worthwhile cause, because when you plant a church, the members of that community can then go out and feed the poor, hold clinics for medical and dental needs, teach kids how to play basketball and do the many things around the town or city that desperately need doing, while at the same time bringing the hope of Jesus Christ to the people who will listen because they see such love broadcast about.

We’re also having a book signing with Jason Jaggard, author of “Spark,” a wonderful book that challenges the reader to take a risk each week to do something that will make you a better person and the world a better place.  Jason is a young man with a vision to turn the world upside down for God in a very doable way, and his book will move the reader from passive to aggressive action.  He will be signing paperback copies of the book at the art show.

So I’m going to catch my breath and not wax eloquent on anything but the art show and the possibility that many will come and have a great time of fun and fellowship, see some wonderful works of art, and perhaps go home with something to enhance their home, while at the same time donating to a worthwhile cause.

Come join us if you can, spread the word, and be prepared to have a great evening.

Meanwhile, I’ll see you back here next week with something interesting and refreshing to say!
