Christian Associates Update

There are some pretty exciting upcoming events for Christian Associates in the next weeks and months.

On July 15 we have our quarterly board meeting, which is always interesting and exciting.  It will be the second board meeting in which Dudley Callison is the President (and board member), and the agenda is full already as we prepare for the items we need to talk about.  There’s so much to process and discuss at that meeting that once a quarter often seems not enough, but we do the best we can.

Then, on July 31, in Budapest, we have our Europe Connect –what we call our staff conferences.  It’s at a lovely hotel/resort on an island in the middle of the river that runs through the city, and it looks spectacular in the photographs.  We were worried that the recent flooding in this part of Europe might have caused us to have to cancel or reschedule, but we were spared any damages, and so we’re meeting as scheduled.  I even convinced my husband to come along, because we spent one day in Budapest about six years ago and vowed to come back.  So, after the conference, he and I will move into a hotel in the center of the city and explore Budapest for three more days.  I can’t wait.  I get to see so many of my colleagues whom I don’t get to see very often, spend some time catching up with them, and have some time with my wonderful husband in a beautiful, historic city of Europe.  What’s not to like?

There are lots more wonderful events on the calendar for CA.  Dudley Callison and his staff are putting together a President’s trip to Madrid in October during which those who accompany him can visit our three exciting church plants in that city – as different from one another as can be – and experience hands on what it’s like to work and serve in a European city that is discovering Jesus Christ all over again in its local neighborhoods.  I wish I could go.  But if you can, let me know and I’ll get you the application form.

There are new people coming on staff, some old friends going off after decades of service to CA, and many other signs of an organization that is alive and active, thriving and fluid.

Going into 2014, we have many more plans to unveil, God willing.  It’s an exciting time to be associated with CA, and I’m thrilled to be a part of what God is doing in and through us.

I just wanted to stop this week to say thank you to all the people reading this blog who have contributed to CA over the years in one way or another and made the work of our ministry possible.  We need your partnership to keep moving the Kingdom of God outward and forward.

Let’s continue working together in the weeks and months to come, and I’ll continue to tell you about the exciting things that are happening!

It’s a deal!
