Gone Fishin’

gone-fishin-1.jpgI don’t profess to believe that a few weeks without a blog from me will mean the end of the world for those of you reading it every week.  I’m not that egotistical by any means.

But I did think I should let you all know that, while I’m not actually fishing, I am enjoying some family vacation time in Idaho at our condo on the Spokane River, which is about as close to fishing as I’ll ever get.  It seems like as good a time as any to free my mind from worrying about what I’m going to write for this weekly blog, so I hope you’ll forgive me for a few weeks away from here.

When I get home from Idaho, Michael and I have a few days to unpack and then repack and take off to Budapest, Hungary, for Christian Associates’ Connect (staff conference), an event I’m really looking forward to, particularly since afterwards Michael and I will spend three days exploring Budapest on our own.  We spent one day there a few years ago when the staff conference was held in another part of Hungary and we had to take the train in for the day.  It was quite an adventure, and we both said we’d like to come back.  One day was just not enough time to see that historical, beautiful city.  So here was an opportunity to do just that, and we couldn’t resist.

So it will be August 14 before you hear from me again, but look at it this way: I’ll have a lot to write about!  I’ll post some pictures on Facebook of our time in Budapest and environs, so if you’re friends with me there, watch for them.  I’m not a great photographer, but you’ll get the drift of what we’re doing and seeing.  But I know I will have some great stories to share of the Connect conference and our adventures before, during and after!

So until then be well and enjoy the summer.
