The Size of My Peace

Another great quote tpeaceo get us through disturbing weeks, this one by Francois Fenelon, 17th century Catholic archbishop, theologian, poet and writer. Sometimes all it takes is one sentence to make you stop short and think about your life and how you view it, and perhaps change things around if they aren’t working well for you. This week this particular quote of Fenelon’s did it for me. It’s simple yet profound, and it hit me where I happened to be living right now, because it’s so easy to let the peace of God slip away from me when life isn’t what I want it to be, which seems to be quite often!

“Is it great peace that I experience? Or just medium-sized peace?”

I would really like to experience great peace. Medium-sized peace – or small, tiny, miniscule peace – is hardly worth it.  So bring on great peace, please, God, and show me how to reach it in Your presence!!!
